How to Apply for CCEI’s In-House Scholarships and Grants

A prominent business executive in Texas, Micheal (Mike) Albert Hernandez III serves as chief executive officer of D & M Leasing, one of the largest consumer car leasing companies in the United States, with offices in Dallas, Grand Prairie, and Fort Worth. Born in Brownsville, Mike Hernandez III founded OP 10.33 to help the residents of Cameron County receive an affordable education and obtain employment.

OP 10.33’s mission includes the Cameron County Education Initiative (CCEI), which offers affordable education, career preparation training, and employment services to deserving students in the community. CCEI provides in-house scholarships and grants, and partners with other organizations to provide financial assistance.
The CCEI’s scholarships and grants are available for students interested in enrolling in its construction technology, electronic health records technician, and medical assistant programs. Students must submit a completed scholarship application, two letters of recommendations, an official copy of their high school diploma, and ATB or GED scores. They also must write a 150-word minimum essay indicating their reasons for attending CCEI. Although not required, students may attach additional documentation such as certificates, awards, and accomplishments.
